Over Sized Rat

To Jordan, you self obsessed whore,
I don't want to know with which guys you'd like to score,
Or how Daddy got you a job at only thirteen,
Involving the hottest guys you've ever seen,
Or how you're SOO depressed about something or other,
And by this time next year you'll be in America,
I don't want to see your eye liner soaked face,
Or hear about what comments you left on myspace,
And I'm God damn sick of hearing about your over-bleached hair,
Here's something to talk about: No one fucking cares!

And some (dodgy fucking!) songs, too

Um. Here's a couple that I started ages ago and don't plan on finishing/ever thinking about again. They were kind of just a project born of the total and complete boredum of study hall. Since they are unfinished, they are also untitled, so I don't know... be creative. Think of something nice.

Untitled song #1:
(Well actually, I think I might call it Number One)

It's sad to look
As the world gets hooked
On hatred, lust and greed
Sometimes I know
Why my brother goes
For that magical plant called weed

Anyone can see
God falls to his knees
As we get worse and worse
But no one cares
No one gives a damn!
Who'd want to save this earth?

Well can you see us now?
As we all fall down
And the stitches come undone
Now we're failing again
But no one cares
'Cause we're all looking out for number one.

Untitled song #2:
(Well.. one, since the other one seems to have a title now =])

Now the apocalypse is coming,
And I just can't wait,
Do you think they'd let me in
At heaven's gate?

Now the world's falling down,
Engulfed in flames,
But just for the record:
We're all to blame.

People like to wonder,
Just why we die,
But if you think about it,
It's no surprise.

Now we all know it's true
But we'd rather forget,
Because we're in denial,
We've too many regrets.

Some (dodgy fucking) poetry

I've had these sitting around for a while so I thought I'd make them useful.

Ever wanted to know the real me? Well, here's my second poem about myself:

This is my special poem,
And it's all about me,
I'm writing it because I have to
As an assessment task for R.E.

Sometimes I have a short temper,
Sometimes I like to shout,
But most of all I just have fun,
'Cause I know that's what life's about.

I love to look up at the sky,
And watch the pretty birds soar.
I used to believe in God,
But now I'm not so sure.

I believe in science,
In spirits but not eternal life,
I believe in reincarnation,
But not loopholes through time.

Sometimes I'm extremely LOUD!
Other times, incredibly shy,
But I'm always kind of out of it,
I wouldn't notice if the world passed me by.

I consider myself quite creative,
I like to express my own thoughts.
Originality is a precious gift,
One that cannot be bought.

I don't like judgemental people.
'Cause you can't tell a book by it's cover.
I just like to be myself,
People should be kind to one another.

I hate people who are racist,
We are all one and the same,
But we treat each other quite coldly
And I hate it; It's such a shame.

I love to listen to music,
It's the thing that keeps me sane.
I love to sit at my window
And watch the pouring rain.

I have a quirky sense of humour,
My dad gave me that one.
He also taught me piano,
And how to pick on my mum.

Now I think that's about it,
Not much more to know about me.
I hope you may have enjoyed this,
I hope it hasn't sent you to sleep.

And a poem I sorta came up with at about... 3 am? After having watched Cold Mountain.

It was when their eyes met
For the very first time,
That they knew this was it;
That love was nigh.

She was new to the town,
He had been there since birth,
And she made it her mission
To someday make him hers.

For months the pair flirted,
He used his charm, she had her smile,
And soon they arranged to be wed,
And with her daddy's money, they'd wed in style.

They'd been married for a year,
And she'd agreed to bear child soon,
But their plans had to change,
When they heard the shocking news.

The town was celebrating;
This is what they'd asked for,
But her heart was filled with dread
Because her husband was off to war.

His bags lay on the ground,
As they said their goodbyes,
Her face was full of tears,
And they promised to always write.

And write they did,
In the months that followed,
But she was filled with constant worry,
And he, constant sorrow.

Soon their letters began to stray,
Like many war-ridden souls.
And with every passing day,
Both would feel even more alone.

As he fought for his life,
She could barely keep hers up,
Because, in both sides of a war,
There's no such thing as luck.

For years the war droned on,
But eventually it was over,
So he stumbled back to his home,
Wounded and barely sober.

In the snow she found him,
His eyes looked blank and dead,
While she should've ran and kissed him,
She stood staring instead.

He tried hard to recognise his wife,
But the war had surely changed her.
Once their love had been limitless,
Now they were but strangers.

He had seen too much death,
Her heart had hardened to a shell,
And though he swears he's been there,
She no longer believes in Hell.

They tried desperately to love again,
Although they simply could not,
For what they both had been through,
Can not easily be forgot.

This is my sad story,
You can ignore it if you choose,
But remember, even if you conquer,
In war, everyone will lose.

And finally, one I forced my brain to write for a competition... Which, I did not get a placing in, but it was free so.. *shrugs*

Simply Beautiful; Beautifully Simple

A flicker of light and the tiniest sound
Of flittering wings, fragile but strong,
Reflecting the sun and creating dancing rainbows,
The dainty butterfly embraces the horizon.

Different colours merged into one
And stretched mightily across the heavens,
There's shadows below the sky's dim glow,
As the sun kisses the earth and retires for the night.

Inside the darkness lurk tiny specks of light,
Like fireflies above a sinister pond,
Illuminating the paths of the creatures below,
Magnificent stars, forever burning.

Waves crash furiously against the shore,
Bolts of electricity are thrown carelessly downwards
As the clouds bellow deep, echoing cries,
Something's angered Mother Nature; this storm is her revenge.

A tiny chirping rings out through the night,
A chorus of ghostly sounds calling,
Singing out to the warm summer air,
The crickets are silenced as an animal ventures too close.

It's funny how the smallest creatures,
Are often the most captivating,
And how Earth's everyday events,
Are always so breathtaking.

It's funny how the simplest things,
Can be so beautiful.

And what does Maru Youkai do at 2 am?

Why, brush her hair of course!

I'm heading off directly to read (Mao's Last Dancer), and I'll possibly play Kingdom Hearts like I have been doing around this time for the last couple of nights. No doubt I'll then have to listen to A.F.I to force me to wind down and go to sleep, more because I should then because I want to.

Because everyone is so interested in what I do when my insomnia starts playing up again.

... I might also make some tea. Yeah, I feel like tea.

So, what ELSE does Maru Youkai do at 1 am?

Watch a cat and a dog fighting to the Benny Hill soundtrack of course! Clicky.

Have We Met Before?

Hey, hey,
I'm doing okay.
I know you didn't ask but I'm telling you anyway.
Oh, no,
There goes someone I used to know...

Searching in the mirror but
I can't find me.
I think I'm hiding behind that girl,
Who seems happy.
She laughs and smiles and,
Seems to glow.
But she's consumed by misery,
And only I know.

Hey, hey,
I'm doing okay.
I know you didn't ask but I'm telling you anyway.
Oh, no,
There goes someone I used to know...

I guess it's too late now but I,
Secretly hate you.
And I know you know I know,
You hate me too.
So I guess it's for the best,
When I leave,
There'll be no more arguments
Or backstabbing.

Hey, hey,
I'm doing okay.
I know you didn't ask but I'm telling you anyway,
Oh, no,
There goes someone I used to know...

I know you won't mourn but
Please remember,
That once upon time we
Had fun together.
And it's with these final words I
Leave forever.

Carry Me Away To Nothing

I'm suffocating,
Intoxicated.
I'm overheated and it's only getting hotter.
The smoke is rising,
I'm vandalising
My body beneath the water.

Why can't you hear me,
Slowing my breathing?
I'm choking, trapped in these four walls.
My head is bursting,
My body's thirsty,
There's not enough air in these winding halls...

I'm gonna die if I don't get out of here,
I'm gonna die if I don't get out of here,
Hear me sigh with exasperated fear,
I'm gonna die if I don't get out of here.

I'm in a maze of
Myst'ry and haste, oh.
What a time to get all claustrophobic

As it gets darker,
My heart beats faster,
I'm paranoid but nobody knows it.

Can't shake the feeling,
That something eerie,
And bizarre is happening.

Did I hear music,
Or did I just lose it?
Is it just me or are these walls closing in...?

I'm gonna die if I don't get out of here,
I'm gonna die if I don't get out of here,
Hear me sigh with exaserated fear,
I'm gonna die if I don't get out of here.

A sudden wind it,
Caressed my skin,
A chilling silence follows...
A sudden wind it,
Caressed my skin,
A chilling silence follows...

I'm gonna die if I don't get out of here,
I'm gonna die if I don't get out of here,
Hear me sigh with exasperated fear,
I'm gonna die if I don't get out of here.
